Coach
Colby Yates.

Colby leads Charlie's Angels, the Morris Fitness high school girls program. At West Hall High he became the winningest wrestler in Hall County history: 213 career wins, 172 of them by pin. As a senior he went 57-2, won the Hall County and Area 7-AAA titles and finished state runner-up at 130 lbs in GHSA Class AAA.

He went on to earn the starting 133-pound spot as a freshman at Belmont Abbey College (NCAA Division II).

His coaching centers on aggressive offense, top control, situational grit and mental toughness, building girls who compete for state podiums and lead on and off the mat.

What it means

Building champions on & off the mat.

On the mat

Real technique, hard work and the confidence that comes from earning results.

Off the mat

The same discipline applied to school, family and everything that comes after wrestling.

Philosophy

How we coach.

01

Position before power

Kids learn to wrestle correctly before they learn to wrestle hard. Good positions keep them safe and win matches later.

02

Earn the next level

Wrestlers move up when their skills are ready. Nobody skips steps, and nobody is held back by a birthday.

03

Develop the whole athlete

Strength, conditioning and mental toughness are coached alongside technique, every week of the year.

Our story

One room became three.

Morris Fitness started in Alpharetta with a simple goal: year-round wrestling coaching that doesn't stop when the school season ends.

As families drove in from farther away, the club opened MF Underground in Roswell and MF North in Homer. Same coaching and standards, closer to home.

Culture

What we expect.

Show up

Consistency beats talent. Practice attendance is the first thing we track.

School first

Grades come before the mat. Coaches check in, and parents are partners.

Respect the room

Partners, coaches and opponents. Everyone is treated the same way.

Own the result

Win or lose, wrestlers learn to take responsibility and get back to work.
